Age Policy / Requirements

Vehicles are available to drivers over the age of 21 with clean driving records (no major moving violations, DUI convictions, or similar infractions). Unfortunately, we cannot rent any vehicles to drivers under the age of 21.

All renters must be physically present at the start of the rental. Unfortunately we do not allow 3rd parties to pick up vehicles and our employees must physically hand the keys over to the person who will be driving.

We reserve the right to run an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) report on all renters prior to the start of the rental in order to verify a valid Driver’s License.

Insurance

There’s always a lot of questions regarding insurance. We will keep it as simple as possible for you:

The easiest option is if you carry an insurance policy on a personal vehicle that you own or lease. We will verify with your insurer that your policy is active and in good standing.
A. What type of coverage do I need on my policy?
Customers are required to maintain full-coverage insurance (liability, comprehensive, and collision). Most of our cars will be covered under an insurance policy with the limits 100k/300k/100k.
The good news is that it does not matter what you drive personally – as long as you have insurance in good standing, your carrier will cover damages to our cars.
B. Are you sure my insurance company will cover the damages if I get into an accident?
If you were in your own personal car and got into an accident with, say–a Lamborghini–your insurance would cover the accident. It is the same principle.
C. Do I have any other options?
If you have an American Express card – they offer a program called ‘Premium Car Rental Protection’. This is available directly from American Express and provides coverage for your C9E rental vehicle. It is very affordable, all things considered.

International Drivers

International drivers must purchase premium car rental protection from American Express or an equivalent rental car insurance coverage policy. The premium car rental policy covers vehicles up to $100,000 dollars. Customers will be required to put a security deposit down for the remainder of the value of the car. This number will be calculated on a case by case basis and is not negotiable.

Additional Drivers

We can add one additional driver at no additional charge. The additional driver must be present at the time of delivery, must submit a driver’s license in advance, and will be subject to the same age, licensing and MVR screening as the primary renter.

Delivery / Pick-up

Pick-up/Drop-Offs out of our facility in Farmingdale, NY is free of charge (We provide storage of your vehicle at our locations at no charge).

All delivery arrangements must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance in order to guarantee on-time service. Any changes to pick-up or delivery times/locations with less than 24 hours notice may incur an additional transportation/convenience fee.
Our motto is simple, early is on time, on time is late and late is unacceptable. We strive to give you the best experience possible and always leave more time than less. However, sometimes we hit traffic, have a blow out, etc, and we ask for a 2 hour window during these deliveries.
Rest assured we will keep you updated every step of the way so there are no surprises.

Return Times

We are very flexible about vehicle return times. But once we have made a return appointment, we need to stick to it as the cars have a busy schedule. There will be a 1-hour grace period with your scheduled return time, after which you may be subject to additional daily rental fees.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

In order to “reserve”, we must receive full payment for the rental. same day cancellations are not permissible. If you are within the 6 days of reservation period you can transfer to another qualified renter, or we can credit you 50% towards your next rental for 1 year.

Unfortunately bad weather does not justify canceling a rental. Unless we have extreme weather that causes state, or government road closures, the car is still yours for the day. If you have a C9E vehicle and experience these extreme conditions during your rental, please give us a call and we will extend your rental at no additional charge. We would rather the car sit safely in your garage than be out in the dangerous conditions.

Damage / Security Deposit

All renters must leave a damage deposit in the form of a credit card or cash. Any damage found on the vehicle upon return will be billed against this deposit. The amount of this deposit will vary depending on the vehicle being rented and your type of insurance, but typically varies between $1500 – $3500.

This deposit is fully refundable following the completion of the rental.

Charges / Payment

AMEX, VISA, MasterCard and Discover are the preferred method of payment for rental fees and security deposits. In certain cases, cashier’s checks or cash may be accepted if pre-arranged. Please make these arrangements with us at least 24 hours in advance.

As mentioned in our first policy, a MVR Report is ran on each renter. This surcharge is included along with our Gas and Toll surcharge, totaling $75.
We also have around 20% in taxes, which Uncle Sam requires, not us. And unfortunately, paying cash for the rental will not save you on the taxes. We still report the business and get taxed, cash or credit. Sorry!

Tickets

As you would expect the renter is responsible for all parking, traffic, speeding or other tickets or violations issued while the vehicle is being rented and must pay for any fees, penalties, towing charges, or impound costs.

Mileage

Most daily and weekend rentals include 100 miles free per day and weekly rentals include 700 miles free, unless stated otherwise. Each additional mile driven will be subject to a charge at the stated mileage rate. Anywhere from $2.00 to $7.95.

We do have some exotic and luxury that are mileage sensitive in order to get you the best pricing these elite vehicles are limited to 75 miles before additional mileage rate apply. Ask for details.

Vehicles driven more than double the allotted rental mileage will be subject to an additional surcharge to cover excess wear-and-tear.

Please check with us on your additional mileage prices when booking a rental.

Driving Area

The car may not be driven outside of the Tristate area or Florida without our prior consent/approval.

Prohibited Uses

C9E Rental vehicles may not be used:

  • by anyone not licensed to drive or whose Driver’s License has been suspended or restricted
  • for any illegal purpose or in connection with any illegal activity
  • to carry persons or property for hire
  • to push or tow anything
  • to exceed any posted speed limits
  • in any speed test, speed contest, race, rally, speed endurance contest, demonstration, or on or near any racetrack or road course
  • to teach anyone to drive
  • on any unpaved surface

In the event of a violation of these Prohibited Uses, we reserve the right to end your rental and retrieve the vehicle.
